He has experience in constitutional law and has focused his research on issues related to land restitution, armed conflict, and land tenure.

Biological Engineer with a master’s in Biotechnology from Lund University. She is currently working as a Lab Specialist in a startup in Lund. She brought her cat with her from Colombia, so she knows the transportation process.

Merybeth Fernández Triana

Chemist from Colombia with a master’s in Organic Chemistry and a PhD in Biotechnology from Brazil. Former Postdoctoral researcher from Lund University. Passionate for natural products, neurobiology, movement, constant learning, nature and social causes.

Carlos Gómez-Ortiz

Chemical Engineer from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and PhD in Physical Geography from Lund University. His research seeks to better use atmospheric gas measurements to estimate regional carbon emissions.

She holds a master’s in Biological Sciences from Lund University (2022-2024) with a scholarship from the Swedish Institute’s program SI Network for Global Professionals. Interested in forest ecology, conservation biology and projects that contribute to the development and social welfare in Colombia.

Torsten Krause

Associate Professor and Deputy Director at the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies. He is focused on understanding how the global social-environmental crises are interconnected and affect local communities in the Amazon region, forest governance, ethnobiology the defense of territories and life.

Anthropologist and lawyer from Universidad de los Andes with a master’s in Policital Ecology, Degrowth, and Environmental Justice at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). PhD student at the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS).

Natalia Melo Pérez

Biologist with a master’s degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science from Lund University. Her research is focused on food sovereignty and leadership among indigenous women in the Amazon. She is an educator and facilitator of spaces for community building and developing skills necessary for a sustainable future.

Kimberly Montañez

Kimberly Montañez-Medina

PhD student in Economic History in Lund University. Her research is centered on water governance in rural communities from Colombia, exploring the connections between climate, biodiversity and water resources.

David Montenegro

David Montenegro

Cultural manager, film curator and artist-researcher. Program Chief at the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival – FICCI. He holds a master’s in Visual Culture from Lund University. His thesis on objects from the armed conflict in Colombia was awarded the Britt & Karl Hugo Axelsson’s Award for featured thesis.

Pharmacist, master’s student in Biotechnology at Lund University with a scholarship from the Swedish Institute’s program SI Network for Global Professionals. She has experience in the pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics research and development. She is passionate about combining science, leadership, and social commitment by promoting access to knowledge and responsible innovation.

Catalina Quiroga

Doctoral student in Human Geography at the Lund University, Anthropologist at the National University of Colombia with a Master’s degree in Geography from the University of the Andes. Her research seeks to understand the forms of production of geographies of climate change in strategic ecosystems in the Colombian Caribbean. Currently, she is analyzing how black and campesino communities adapt, modify and transform climate change policies in mangrove ecosystems.

Motivated by driving the energy transition and decarbonization. With a background in environmental engineering and public policy, he supports organizations in navigating complex regulations and stakeholder expectations.

Camilo Sáenz-Moncaleano

Psychologist from the Universidad de los Andes, with Master’s degrees in Sport Sciences from the University of Lund (Sweden) and Leipzig (Germany), and obtained his doctorate in Sport Psychology at Florida State University (USA). University lecturer at the Faculty of Sport Science at Malmö University and the Faculty of Psychology at Lund University. Consultant and researcher in high performance psychology.

Colombian lawyer with a master’s degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science from Lund University. PhD student at the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS). His main interests are related to the intersection between environment, territory and peace building.

Laura Vega

Laura Vega

Environmental Engineer with a master’s degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science from Lund University with a scholarship from the Swedish Institute’s program SI Network for Global Professionals. She is focused on the implementation of environmental certifications in construction, and her master’s thesis explored the nutritional contribution of foods grown in agroforestry systems in the Amazon.

Anthropologist from Universidad de los Andes with a master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po-Paris. She has experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of projects in development and humanitarian settings, and with an interest in disaster risk management.
